The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 在特殊的地方拍特殊的电影还真是难为编剧了，又想有妖有鬼又不能有，非得有个很高的立意，平白无故给观众讲人家已经烂熟的道理，这类电影没法评分，因为你知道导演只能拍到这份上，他身上的镣铐得有好几千万吨吧，如果不幸的话，这些镣铐回头在地里腐烂都得用上千年！
很个人化的故事和场调，反而极简冷峻，全程高语境也是我的菜。人类的进化与对自身改变的理解和探索，人类的观念分歧，主角的想法变化，都很深刻，耐嚼。可能改成夸张酷炫再带点儿搞笑的爆米花式，评分就会高一些吧……
一开始以为是沉浸式卡夫卡，后来发现是真没看懂。。。
看的不是很懂，但对于柯南伯格我又不会对其否认，所以这类让我纠结的电影就不打分了。高概念艺术化和象征化的电影，看完很费劲，想探索其深层的政治、哲学也很费解，因此不做过多评价
昨天看睡着了，今天把剩下的看完，理解可能有偏差。现如今每个人都是行为艺术家，缝上嘴巴只用全身耳朵来表达的行为艺术表演者，可能形式大于内容。最极致的表达又是反求诸己，用身体去献祭意义。看那些切割画面，我竟然可以目不转睛，得益于拍摄视角的客观呈现，不血腥不迎合。
太难看了，全对白推进，解剖也做得很假很廉价，几个大牌就整出这种低成本crap
人类发展到未来，痛感致命的部分被弱化，取而代之成为性快感。perform一语双关是手术也是表演，是人体学解剖学科学，也是艺术，更是艺术，被围观的性狂欢。
网大可以拍到这种程度真的很难得，不露肉，不瞎搞笑，剧情层层叠进，除了结尾复仇那一段太简单其他的很对得起网大了。希望以后的网大也能如此，向奈飞看齐，即使让我花钱我也认。现在目中无人出来，等看口碑

拙劣的模仿，演员演技跳戏，剧情难以自圆其说，三毛钱特效！
虽然套用了罗生门的内核。但是编导非常用心。很有诚意、很花心思的把各个情节巧妙的连接。摄影和配乐以及演的都不错。希望越来越多这样的国产电影
可以欸。。谢锦的那个演员有时候看起来有点像朱一龙（。
罗生门式的叙事当时确实跟吸引人，关键是每段故事都能接起来，并且没有大的逻辑漏洞，在网大里面实属难得。所谓的狐仙鬼怪，不过是掩人耳目的借口罢了，升米恩斗米仇，最黑暗的永远都是人心
脫下一切高概念和象征性的修飾之後，只是一則創作寓言，關於藝術探索、邊界討論和外在干預。David Cronenberg絕對有能力將整個故事變得更加類型化，但是他沒那麼做，而他的任性也註定無法被所有人接受。
柯南伯格一拍脑门又想出个牛逼的故事梗概，可惜老年男性的想象力实在有限，除了展示人体器官以外也做不出什么惊世骇俗的东西，于是让演员用故弄玄虚的气泡音从头到尾说形容词。由于本片的衬托，《钛》更加牛逼了。
还是值得一看。二十年前的剧本，今日看也还行，但也没有特别厉害的地方。执导演员还是一流的。隐喻都传到了，而且多次重复，令人记忆深刻。特别小k窗口那段，回应也很妙，旧式s*已经不行了。另外一个层面，如果结尾能够好，四星一定。一个电影构建一个世界/宇宙，说通不容易，部分瑕疵之外，总体还可以，投入的钱也不多。

虽说建国之后不许成精，这剧本写的也是很不错的
第一个网大用罗生门是有点意思，第二个第三个都用就给用成样板戏了
竟然还不错，3分半的片子，由于是网大，又是带着镣铐跳舞，所以鼓励一下。一个网大，只要能把故事讲通，讲出一个鬼故事的水平，就可以了。
