The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 作为电影真的有好多问题哦，比如叙事重点摇摆、有些人物行为/选择的逻辑也让人困惑、还有两个孩子写着写着就写丢了直接最后拿字幕一带而过…再就是加菲这个人物，一开始塑造得还挺好的，后面就感觉特别单薄，他具体做了啥没做啥都含糊过去了。但是！劳模姐真的演得好好啊！！好好啊！尤其是最后，我竟然真的从她的歌声里面听到了上帝之音，好像真的有些理解到塔米菲这个人身上最纯粹、最极致的那一部分里面就是有上帝存在的。也大概在这一刻突然就真正了解了塔米菲这个人物。作为一个演员演到这种程度真的了不起，太了不起了。
结合了星球大战，进击的巨人以及在曹县拍的机器猫。领袖头像眼睛装了探头，街上开两排坦克，这样的镜头居然没有被剪掉。必须给到三星，哈哈哈。
有着这近些年名人传记片的通病，拍得稀碎毫无重点，相比同型的《Judy》和同期的《里卡多一家》本片遗憾在没有挖掘出打动人心的点。劳模姐Jessica Chastain凭借服化和演技奉献了“大变活人”的演绎。
单纯的三星给劳模姐的表演，以及她的敬业精神
单看这个故事，整体节奏还是可以的，讲述的逻辑也完整，斗争和反抗精神也存在。
一个以上帝之名敛财的故事，但与其说这两口是处心积虑的骗子不如说是激情旺盛的演员，隔着媒介，传教者和受众，塔米和吉姆，相互恩惠和欺骗，每个人都是这场横跨几十年的闹剧的演员。劳模姐的表演堪称震撼，很多时候在妆容和入戏之下你会忘掉这是劳模姐，从话音到神态她都完全变了一个人，小金人已经在快递中。
恭喜劳模终获小金人！电影又是阿美利卡的自我感动，幼儿园作业一般平白稚气。
对两人发迹过程蜻蜓点水，社会背景或者操作方式都没有挖掘。感觉就是两个表演型人格的神棍。宗教狂的好处就是可以把自己的欲望也通过绝对神权合理化，不需要自我judge就能自洽。
其实比预想的好一点 但总体还是太平铺直述了
充滿友情的故事，宇宙是自由書寫的場所，眼睛在看著的設定非常能體現奧威爾的世界
里面内容可不太简单啊，有1984、独裁者等等，有点儿意思
这个影后该拿，一生怀揣热情与热爱面对生活，但电影很多剧作上的地方很差劲，对两个人的关系破裂并没有更有表现力的展现出来。
考后第一场电影。中规中矩，好的地方基本都是原作剧本的内容，革命者唱歌的片段没保留，私心上有点遗憾，世界观更完整，但也没饱满到哪去，毕竟儿童电影。在翻拍里算比较差。
对于这个人物不是很了解，单纯剧情来说可能稍显无聊，但是不得不承认加菲还能看出影子，劳模我是瞅了半天没看出来，而且她最后的演出那一段我很喜欢
