The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 完美揭示了欧美政府抗疫的无知与幼稚行为，未对焦的虚化镜头太多，略影响观感
大量采用了手持近景机位的纪录片形式，表达人物情绪上非常有效果，在后疫情时代看的第一部有关新冠肺炎疫情的片子，很有力量。
一场疫情可窥见一个体制，也可反映到政府的响应程度和应急能力，敢于直面这种问题的电影的确是有震撼力的，而这种大环境下也凸显了人性的种种。

疫情之下的老人护理院，上演了21世纪的“飞越疯人院”。这里住满了被政府和医疗系统抛弃的耄耋老人，也有因早发阿尔茨海默而丧失工作能力的中年人，在死神的镰刀下一个一个被收割。弃老成为整个社会心照不宣的不可承受之罪，也成为一些人痛彻心扉、至今还在淌血的伤痕。这再一次提醒了我们，在国境线之外，新冠对人们究竟意味着什么。
