The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 非常喜欢！在我看是写给马拉多纳的挽歌，更像是虽然还很年轻的导演写给自己墓志铭，md不是谁都可以当导演的！
上帝之手会无情得夺取，夺取所有的青春荷尔蒙让故事里的少年一夜长大，全城沸腾的时刻也再也无法将自己和这个世界相联系。上帝之手也会无私得给予，给予所有离开家乡追梦的电影，那不勒斯的一砖一瓦都无比动容，想一头扎进碧蓝的大海里，连同最甜蜜的痛苦回忆纵身一跃。
对现实中社交网络的讽刺恨不得写在人物脸上，然而对观点的展现过于粗暴，非是既否的简单二极定义，让整个故事没有悬念，也没有动画应有的想象力。

2021.12.16 看得不是很懂。。也不是剧情上的不懂 就是深层次的 内涵之类的不是很懂 跟我想象的完全不一样啊 上帝之手应该指的是罗纳尔多 在比赛的时候用手射门 主要是围绕一个家庭的故事然后别的亲戚啊朋友啊啥的 意大利人还是一如既往的开放 外加女的各个都是丰乳肥臀那么丰满的。。小姨胸大的就离谱跟球一样 家族坐船去玩的时候直接在一堆人面前全裸躺在那里 连毛都给你看还那么多。。地中海也太蓝了吧 甚至都有点不敢相信 男主他爸也是厉害让男主随便给一个女的第一次 当听到爸妈出事了我就猜到肯定是遇到什么泄露中毒了因为突然两个人睡着了 后面那个男爵夫人也太骚了吧 老牛吃嫩草居然要男主干她 男主也是离谱 就算再饥渴也不能这么随意吧。。熟悉的欧洲全裸海滩 全是奶子。。男主没听导演的话去了罗马发展 他是真帅

辛苦导演了，安排了这么多人来帮助一个男孩长大（虽然他最后也没有什么惊天变化），祝他不要崩溃，祝他获得勇气
社交工具阻断社交，不完美才是真完美。成人化元素不少，影射多种问题，尤其是潜在科技危机与Zuck vs. Cook。

前面看不过是把智能大反攻+我机器人+一大堆别的电影设定拼拼凑凑套个可爱皮给小孩子看，不过还是有自己的暖心的点而且确实很可爱，科技到底是冷冰冰还是可以很温情
不太好 还是那种沉迷于AI技术缺乏人与人之间的交流的戏码 这次却感觉不到对交流缺失的振聋发聩 甚至有点根本没解决好问题的缺憾。本来自己的机器坏掉有自己的思想这种套路可以拍得很有趣啊！但最后他到底和家里人怎么多了沟通 没说，孩子们和Ron代码的机器人怎么算是不孤独的交流 没说。不过让我特感动的也有 是他们跳下悬崖后Barney抱起了Ron说“我捉到你了”，Ron却反过来扶起了Barney说“我才捉到你”，这不就是他们俩的友情的写照吗？最后想说奶奶还有那只山羊好搞笑啊出个番外篇吧！
舒服的运镜，构图都很美。上帝之手，往事回首。
自传式的描绘，记忆里的夏天，马拉多纳就是那时候的时代背景。每个人都是孤独的，在这一点你并不特别。那不勒斯的美除了披萨还有黑夜和黎明的大海。
私人化的情绪，漂亮的镜头语言，可惜无法完全做到共情，但少年是美丽的。
男主的设定有点无聊，有趣的点全部在阿荣身上了。本片的反大数据反高科技意识很明显，处处讽刺苹果（bubble 对应apple)，还搞了个长得像乔布斯的形象当反派。另外不理解为什么插入一个反共奶奶的设定，就显得很不搭边。
这是一部导演自传。有什么电影会比导演拍自己的故事还有说服力么？
