Alex de Renzy (FEMMES DE SADE, PRETTY PEACHES) was one of the greatest directors of adult films ever, his career starting in the late 60's and preceeding well into the 90's. So saying that BABY FACE, stands as his crowning achievement is no small praise. This ranks as one skinflick that truly has it all, a complete storyline, fine production, and a couple of decent acting performances and some of the hottest sex scenes ever assembled in a single movie.
Big, lumbering Dan Roberts stars as the hapless construction worker who has to go into hiding following his seduction of underage but willing Priscilla (Lyn Cuddles Malone) which incurs the wrath of her religious fanatic of a man. After a near-fatal accident leaves him unconsciously drifting in the bay, he is saved by fan favorites Amber Hunt (FIONA ON FIRE) and Linda Wong (SWEET CAKES) who clean him up and then some. Hunt comes up with the brilliant idea of taking him to the Training Camp, a brothel catering exclusively for rich women and run by her aunt, affectionately referred to as the Champ.
This fancy cathouse provides the perfect backdrop for the movie's myriad sexual situations, nearly all of them handled with great style and enthusiasm by cast and filmmaker alike, shot through with a wickedly subversive humor. Standout scenes include gentle giant Roberts tender initiation of the eager Malone, their contrast in size providing an instant thrill all by itself, and the late great Kristine Heller taking on pretty much all the guys present in what has to stand as the single greatest gang bang sequence ever committed to film or video.

这不就是资本主义工厂的“教父”吗？结尾又讽刺又真实。看哈维尔·巴登演“好”老板还蛮不习惯的，总感觉下一秒他就会拿气枪爆人脑袋...
从主角躺在鸡笼中间就能预料到的书档式架构还是那样有震慑力，so ironic,so destined。
神作！当斯坦接受测谎仪的时候，他会想起老皮特教他读心术的那个夜晚，人会把谎言当做真实的，所以即使是最精密的测谎仪器也无懈可击，斯坦在灯红酒绿的城市里招摇撞骗，不是人们相信了他的谎言，而是人们相信了自己的谎言，用谎言填补自己内心的虚无，用谎言来逃避现实，回避死亡、悔恨、绝望。也许是时候重新审视托罗了，另找时间看老版。
三星半，结局烦人反转和结尾，厉害。片名翻译的太傻了
Del Toro réunit tous les éléments indispensables pour rendre hommage au film noir, de la noirceur de l’intrigue à l’éclairage culte en passant par la «femme fatale»,dans 1 décor baroque amplement reconstruit des 40s. Avec le rise and fall de son anti-héros arriviste, le récit prend 1 forme circulaire dans 1 perspective assez prédictive à l’avance, ce qui réduit largement son aspect « suspens». Nightmare Alley reste un film noir esthétiquement abouti et divertissant aux traits freaks/monstrueux, thème de prédilection de son réalisateur.
前面讲Carny的部分好喜欢，用三十年代嘉年华做背景真的很棒，全程怀念【Carnivale】，后面么就。。。不过noir当代化反正也一直拍不好，因为本来就没有什么情节，那种特别的氛围感又很难现代化，虽然色彩布景服饰和女主角确实都很好看
不同时代背景之下，翻拍早期电影需要慎重，这个故事如果不大刀阔斧改一改，实在是乏味又疏离，因为在当下，马戏团、畸形秀、心理学都已经完全失去了神秘感，整个糅杂在一起，甚至比《Soho区惊魂夜》还乏味，竟然让小白兔和大魔王的魅力都折损了，很难让人相信这是陀螺拍的。但也许正是因为陀螺太一味沉浸在自己的梦幻世界，才没能让故事在现代电影的角度下活过来。陀螺还是继续去拍自己的幻想故事吧。
导演功力深厚，主角玩火自焚，最喜欢的最后一幕很有张力，把对主角这个人物的讽刺以及悲剧体现得淋漓尽致。赞一个中文名翻译。

3.5。toro對嘉年華內志怪美學的狂熱明顯壓過了他對黑色電影的迷影情節，這也導致影片在主角走出嘉年華後立刻變得冗長無聊。
可能是没看过老版所以主观上对整体故事有很强吸引力，所谓老酒换新瓶，看人手法不看原始配料，所以想起几年前老头也有一部《魔力月光》比这部轻松惬意多了~
没看完旧版…太长了吧，转折太慢了吧，装服真的很不错，也有很多伏笔和暗示，演技感觉也没完全发挥…
看后让我不适的电影，不能说不好，但只能给还行，因为。。。真的不适。
跟影片中的故事一样，影片本身也似乎来自上个世纪，复古的基调，精良的制作，精准的表演，精彩的反转。前半段进展缓慢，需要点耐心仔细留意，男主为自己的未来留下的铺垫，悲剧总是因其不可避免而更让人唏嘘。几位女主和男主都贡献出了一流的演技…
质感很好，非常讲究，没有失望。托罗的每部电影看下来有个感觉，似乎导演对影片的解读，会比影片呈现得更丰富，恐怕是因为在剧本之外花了更多心思。
看到kate和rooney又共演了就买了票去看，还以为能看到些基情，有些小遗憾。电影的话就感觉没什么意思。当能刚好又让我思考一下欧美那个年代所共有的马戏团回忆，还是蛮有趣的
一边想用塔罗牌元素、教读心术的师父认为自己真的有神力，来表现鬼神力量，一边结局又用明知老板驯服怪人的圈套又心甘情愿入局的行为去强调人的选择，就很拧巴。甚至关于父亲的死也没有什么反转。🙃
还行啊 虽然很快猜到了结尾 可不正是结尾让这片升华了一下子吗？人生起起伏伏 下坡路嗖的一下太快 跌倒谷底 才知道爬回去 怕是不可能了。服道化美美美 就是cooper的帅气与林风悄然不在了 他曾经帅哭了
