The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 虽是改编，实则却是大卫·洛维将自己前两部长片中的某些母题糅合而成，暂且可以理解为「骑士和斧头的鬼魅浮生」，必要与否先放在一边，他电影里所有的古怪元素似乎都能从前作中找到合理化解释。
剧情晦涩冗长，除了有特色的镜头语言可看，普通观众根本无观看必要。
归乡好于离乡，前后次序调换一下说不定更好，《钉子》的布景和动作戏露怯了，但无法掩盖前三分之二动人的感伤。战后，昨日的世界，摇晃的车厢，意大利人，西西里，老年与青年，演员致敬，安葬，随风而逝，大海……回家啊，回到我的故乡，文明的故乡，那些永恒的乡愁。
绝美的画面和天籁之音给怪诞诡谲、不知所云的故事增色不少
【C+】倒也没必要过度执着于符号的意义，最后十分钟的脑内幻想蒙太奇已经把整部影片要讲的东西给捋顺了，某种程度上可以看作对之前神秘氛围的一种背叛。核心主题与《鬼魅浮生》类似，个体在旅途中丧失了自我，迷离于时空尺度，直至寻求定义才能重获新生。钟意A24那独特的视听美学，但在本片里只是用于营造高雅幻想的手段，实质仍是破碎残缺的闪亮碎片。
精彩绝伦的奇幻片，是好电影。叔叔的生活虽然很糟糕，但是很有激情，乐观积极阳光，他的生活就是我的理想生活。台词设计很精巧，全部在线没有崩坏

运送作家路易吉·皮兰德娄的骨灰回到他的家乡西西里，只是全片的楔子，陡然变换画风的第二幕小品才是真正的灵魂所在。镜头的轮转间使用了大量历史影像、其它影片的片段，从而产生了奇妙的环境作证。保罗·塔维亚尼用整个过程记述着人们对死者的真实态度，伟大的作家再塑碑立传也不一定会被铭记，而由你亲手促成的坟墓才会一生难忘。整部影片也相当精准地纪录着，二战前夕到现如今意大利人的生活变化。大师级的极简影像之美。
骨灰、棺材、坟墓，死亡是主题。沉重的历史缅怀＞盖过了这部电影本身。
有诗意，没深度，这么简单一个故事能拍俩小时也是不容易。
What's the meaning of this film?
The first part in B/W could be seen as a journey to bid his brother a moving adieu by transporting the ashes of Pirandello, whose works have been adapted by the brothers, to his Sicilian homeland. Whereas the second part in color is quite confusing for us who have never read the story before. The shift from grey to color is poetic though

好美好美，阴郁又古典，没想到如此传统（老旧？）故事的影像化会这么美。
私人又温柔的nostalgia。虽然感觉没看懂，但还是很喜欢。
看不到大银幕有点遗憾，影像包括用光都很棒。
去年看的，今天清一下迅雷才想起来。BDO重度爱好者狂喜。
