The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 深深的悬念，漂亮的女主，跌宕的剧情，持久的观感，好片该有的本片都有了，除了印度式歌舞。
我立意很高，观众的欣赏能力也就这样，所以剧本什么的就随便弄一下就行了吧，前半段把观众的当傻子按在地上摩擦的剧情是真的让人有点生理不适感。但不得不提的是最后的落点立住了，典型的情绪流电影吧

最大问题还是前摇太长，但是这部电影的存在就是为了让印度被伤害的女人被看见，如果真的是能让印度醒过来的星期四就好了。最后，为女性主义无比自豪，我们每个人都应该是女权主义者。
女性被侵犯，却要付出自己的一生去呐喊悲痛，付出如此大的代价才能换得国家的关注。
这简直是泯灭人性
故事很俗套，但布洛克的表演很强大，这可能是她作为演员最好的一次。
印度悬疑电影真的很牛。节奏掌握得很好。印度的女性议题一直都是印度的一个软肋。历史上很多伟大的英雄都违反了法律，但是他们的诉求不能视而不见。。
一个伟大的故事，女主这样的英雄只存在于电影里，现实里不会有这样的机会，这才是更无奈的地方。配乐太烂了，从头到尾都是重复的一小段。
印度所需要的觉醒，远远不止一个星期四。
节奏、演员演技、故事和整体议题价值性都很棒，虽然最后 为了画面美感 所有街上人都是黑色伞有点儿脱离现实了 其他都蛮好的 很棒的一部。 看完好沉重啊………有时候邪恶的成本太低，维护正义的成本太高。 但世界本不应该如此。
前半段是真不错，悬疑紧张的气氛塑造的很好，虽然知道女主是为了社会问题绑架孩子也知道她一定不会伤害孩子，但还是很好奇到底是什么原因，忍着贼慢的节奏看下去。然而后半段完全破坏了前面的氛围，故事稍显做作，特别结尾，女主神一样的得到了大家的赞同，还在监狱里当起了老师，我怎么觉得那么假呢。末尾打出的字幕让人震撼，应该说这才是比较真实的东西，可惜不管女主的事情是真实还是虚构，社会改变了么，并没有。

墙中鞋，奶油饼，大衣甜甜圈， life goes on 之罪，更生人不易；Sandra Bullock 演技有点厉害，“惩罚者”和“金并”都好友善
绑架、要赎金、对话警察与总理，都是次要目的，是在想清楚自己不得不犯罪后，顺手做的、能多做大一点都是赚到的事情。
而且印度片能不能短点啊，有事没事130分钟真要了命了～（字面意思…
