The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 真人故事改编总能赋予影片更多意义，对未知世界的探索总是能引起人的欲望，想起海洋之心里面对大海的探索，此片对大陆的探索，还有现在人们对太空宇宙的探索，另一方便，极端环境下人的渺小，软弱也是不言而喻，这类片子算是一种激励吧
后半段加入精神/心理元素后才开始变得有趣了一些，但整个旅程都显得很枯燥，对主题的强调也没什么感觉。
