The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 你以为是小镇版的《捉鬼敢死队》，其实是捉鬼敢死队世界观的《怪奇物语》。不过情怀这一点被拿捏的死死的。
另一个奇妙之处，也是最奇妙的，

看完觉得抓鬼也太容易了吧，仪器在手，万事大吉。
本片关于能被高压电束缚住的「鬼」的设定很独特。几个孩子挑起捉鬼大梁的同时，也为系列前作接续了历史。影片对系列老观众的服务很到位，但对于新观众来说，难免会因部分角色、道具、情节设定交待不足而影响观感。

作为爽片几乎无可挑剔，精彩的动作设计和几乎无尿点的剧情推进都算得上一流水准。至于剧情嘛……爽就完事了还在乎那些干嘛

致敬到这个份上，粉丝会喜欢吧。但是剧情和鬼怪设置太扯了，也没有新意，最后搞不清是不是在看怪奇物语。
情怀续作了。当年电影IP改编了许多游戏制作，就是今天switch上大热的路易洋馆，也未必不是衍生品。秉承了系列怪诞大条的做派，就是一种老美的自大，恰当的题材下就显为非凡勇气：这孩子怎么就不怕鬼。
