The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 用剧情拍摄的一周时间串联起两位公众人物的时代画像，婚姻危机，政治立场等剖面，看起来好像真的面面俱到，有争吵，有和解，有猜忌，有怀疑，也有女性主义的抒发片段。但真就流水账啊，艾伦·索金这两次的本子总给人一种争做三好学生的中等生，你看得到他真的有在努力诠释一个“圆形”，但却抹不掉那种努力中的刻意，你说他无聊，但他又表现的这么上进，而这种刻意就让人莫名没有好感。相信这样的“学生”，每个人的中学时代或多或少都曾遇到过类似的。
前面冗长无聊，最后的高潮十分感动。妮可不是最合适的人选，但她撑住了。
妮可演得很卖力，但影片糟糕的妆发和大量的闪回让她这个角色显得很莫名奇妙，尤其是妆发放大了她和露西的年龄差，显得很违和，二封很吃力；反倒是哈维尔·巴登，人物形象更立体更清晰，成熟男人的魅力从举止谈吐间显露，着实迷人。
锁精剧本越来越烂，导演技巧毫无长进，《芝加哥七君子审判》就看得我头大，这片更糟糕，剧情稀烂不说，剪辑简直混乱到家了。全片唯一的优点就是传奇演得确实不错。
冲着妮可基德曼终于看完了，剧本实在无趣，但最后一幕妮可演得好动人，值一座奥斯卡了
对基德曼人偶一样没有纹路没有表情的胀鼓鼓假面做足了心理准备。

哈维巴登和尼可基德曼近年来最完美的表演。群像戏也给力。女主尼可基德曼是这次金球奖强有力竞争者。
做为一个只耳闻过《I Love Lucy》的观众，这部传记片更像一个用来打发时间的八卦。
虽然有些场景确实很没质感。
跟纪录片版（《露西尔与戴斯》）前后就差了几个月，聚焦同样的对象，形成互补，只是这个剧情版的信息量就相对少一些了。
